IP40 Connectors

Northern Connectors offers various products with a protection rating of IP40, which means they are safeguarded from entry by solid objects with a diameter or thickness of more than 1.0mm. Our IP40 connectors include power connectors, miniature connectors, subminiature connectors and bayonet connectors.

Degrees of Protection - First Digit

The first digit of the IP code indicates the level of protection against moving parts - other than against smooth rotating shafts and similar items - that is provided by the product. It also indicates the level of protection against foreign bodies entering an enclosure.

Degrees of Protection - Second Digit

The second digit shows the level of protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against dripping, spraying, submersion and other forms of moisture.
