binder launches new series of 3-phase connectors for demanding applications
The industrial connector specialists at binder have created a new power supply connector to bridge the gap between the brand’s M12 and M23 connector designs.
Launching in November 2023, the 615 Series of PBC15 power connectors are now available – and are especially suitable for three-phase motors and frequency converters.
There are plenty of beneficial features that come with binder PBC15 connectors, which include:
Bayonet quick-locking mechanism
Efficient locking with a simple quarter turn ensures reliable connections, speeding up installations.
It’s easy to visualise the plug position and locking status thanks to symbols on the housing.
Screw-clamp termination technology
These field-wireable cable connectors offer screw-clamp termination with standard tools.
Along with the quick locking system, this enables PBC15 connectors to be put into operation rapidly.
3 power contacts + 2 signal pins
In addition to three power pins offering up to 16A and 630V, there are also two signal contacts with up to 10A and 63V, plus a protective earth (PE) pin.
Standardised to DIN EN IEC 61076-2-116, these circular connectors are ideal for single-cable solutions and developing independent applications.
Unshielded or shielded
The PBC15 connector is available either unshielded or shielded – the shielded version being suitable for environments with electromagnetic interference.
For example, typical applications include machine engineering and factory and process automation.
IP67 ingress protection
The industrial circular connectors in the binder 615 Series have an ingress protection rating of IP67 when mated and locked.
This means they are completely dustproof and able to withstand sprays or jets of water, and can also endure temporary immersion in water to limited depths.
